IWM 2026 Recap: Breaking the Pattern Through Technology and Storytelling

On March 27, 2026, the celebration of innovation, community, and female leadership in tech reached a new level during the International Women’s Month event hosted by Women Techmakers México. Held at the offices of Pinterest, the gathering brought together developers, creators, founders, and leaders shaping the future of technology across Mexico.

In collaboration with Technovation Global, the event created a vibrant space for connection, idea sharing, and inspiration, reinforcing the importance of building inclusive ecosystems where women not only participate in tech but lead it.

An evening of Community, Inspiration, and Impact

The event blended networking, conversation, and forward thinking dialogue, highlighting the growing influence of women across the tech industry. Attendees engaged in meaningful exchanges, explored new opportunities, and reflected on the collective impact of women driving innovation.

More than just a gathering, it served as a reminder that technology is not neutral, it is shaped by the voices behind it. And spaces like this ensure those voices are diverse, powerful, and heard.

“Break the Pattern”: A Premiere by Las Flores

One of the most anticipated moments of the evening came from Las Flores, which unveiled “Break the Pattern”, a short film created using artificial intelligence.

Designed specifically for the event, the piece invited attendees into an immersive narrative experience that explored identity, transformation, and the role of technology in redefining creative expression. The film stood as both an artistic statement and a technological experiment, demonstrating how AI can be used not just as a tool, but as a medium for storytelling.

The premiere captured the attention of the audience, sparking conversations around authorship, creativity, and the evolving relationship between humans and machines.

A Vision Led by Andrea Deković

Behind this moment is Andrea Deković, founder of Las Flores, an international film festival bridging Mexico and Montreal at the intersection of blockchain, artificial intelligence, and cinema.

As a global speaker and community leader, Andrea continues to advocate for the responsible and creative use of emerging technologies. Her work focuses on empowering individuals, particularly women, to not only understand these tools but to use them to tell their own stories and shape new creative economies.

Through initiatives like “Break the Pattern,” she brings this vision to life, merging art, technology, and community into experiences that challenge traditional narratives.

Building the Future, Together

The IWM 2026 event was not just a celebration, it was a statement. A statement that the future of technology is being actively built by women who are creating, leading, and redefining what is possible.

From powerful conversations to innovative showcases, the event left a lasting energy: one rooted in collaboration, creativity, and the collective ambition to keep pushing boundaries.

Because when women in tech come together, they don’t just participate in the future, they create it.
